Leadership
Team
The
Leadership Team is a team of faith: refusing to duck
responsibility, refusing to take the bow, and committed to
serving every volunteer and guest. They bind themselves to work
hard, honor Jesus above all things, and live out a life of love
for one another. This team is not serving through volunteers; it
is Christ living through the leadership. Westside Compassion is
not their work; prayer and support is their work. Westside
Compassion is not their desire; Jesus is their desire.
Objectives:
- Lead the
overall for the event

Financial Team
Precious to the heart of God is the way His people use money.
This team will create a financial force that more than meets the
needs.
Objectives:
- Develop
and operate an accounting procedure
- Create
and manage budget
- Secure
insurance policy

Fundraising
Parking and Security Team
The Parking
and Security Team is the first impressions team of Westside
Compassion. Their primary goal is to welcome the patient with a
friendly greeting and helpful direction. In many ways, this team
sets the tone for every other experience the guest will receive.
Objectives:
- Organize
volunteers to handle parking and security

Coordinate extra parking space around the area
- Layout
parking lot for mobile vans

Public Relations Team
The Public
Relations team is the voice of Westside Compassion. They
passionately represent the efforts of hundreds of people. No
progress will be made without this team saying it well. In
doing so, they also dare to stand next to the throne of God and
declare, “You are loved by the King of Kings.”
Objectives:
- Create
all media for advertising the event
- Write
and distribute press releases
- Organize
community notification

Communicate with local media

the event through pictures, video and writing
Follow-up Coordination Team
Our guest’s experience will be a flash in the pan if not for the
follow up team. This team will recruit, train, and mobilize an
army of volunteers whose interest is seeing people get a boost
in our community. They will build relationships that will last a
life time, or perhaps one without end.
Objectives:
- Develop
a program of volunteers that make sure attendees get to
their follow up visits
- Develop
a program that connects churches, local agencies, and
individuals with the people who attend Westside Compassion
- Follow
up on patients needing on going healthcare
Equipment Management Team
The Equipment Management team is those who bless the people
involved in Westside Compassion by their service of love and
hard work. They model a sacrifice of love for Jesus and people
through their cheerful labor setting up rooms with tables and
chairs, hauling medical equipment, and keeping the grounds in a
manner of cleanliness that honors Christ and blesses Hillsboro
UMC.
Objectives:

Communicates with all other coordinators to assess needs
- Gets
tables and other equipment rounded up and set up
- Handles
set up and tear down organization
- Directs
clean up crews
Social Service Partners
The Social service team is committed to organizing a fair with
many community partners represented. Throughout the day, our
guests will visit your booths to receive information, services
and/or referrals.
If you are part of a social service organization or church that
would like to share your information with the people of
Westside, please complete the Social Service Information form
and contact the team leader.
Objectives:
- Provide
information, services and/or referrals
- Make the
fair a fun event for our guests
- Provide
opportunities for informational seminars
Interpreters Team
The Interpreters team provides the health care, intake, and
social services, with interpreters who show kindness and
compassion to those served by Westside Compassion. They are a
thread between cultures that stitches the community together.
Objectives:
- Recruit
and schedule interpreters
- Plan for
Spanish interpreters
Hospitality Team
The
Hospitality Team provides leadership in coordinating a team of
warm, inviting people who demonstrate the love of Jesus through
their kindness and their servant hearts. They are the hug of
Westside Compassion. Their primary job is to make the volunteers
and people who attend Westside Compassion feel loved and
honored. As much as the Lord allows, this team is to build
ongoing relationships with patients, so that Westside Compassion
inspires lives beyond the event.
Objectives:

Dental Team
The Dental team provides leadership in pulling together
Dentists, Hygienists, Assistants and equipment necessary to meet
the patient’s basic dental care needs within the scope of
Westside Compassion’s ability to be most helpful. More than
fixing teeth, this team ministers to the people with the healing
power of Jesus Christ.
Objectives:
- Recruit
dentists and dental offices

Coordinate NW Medical Teams van and volunteers
- Set up
mobile dental units at the clinic

Establish guidelines for the scope of dental services

Pre-assign patients for morning appointments
- Screen
patients for most effective ministry
Prayer Team
The Prayer team provides consistent intercessory prayer support
in order to ensure that Westside Compassion is a work of the
Spirit of God which will bring glory and honor to Jesus Christ
and His compassion to the people of Hillsboro and the
surrounding areas.
Objectives:

Personal intercession over the on-going needs of Westside
Compassion (updated on a regular basis through e-mail or
prayer memo's)
- Coming
together in corporate prayer to intercede spiritually for
the Hillsboro area and surrounding communities
- Event
assistance to help organize and host the Volunteer Worship
Night and prayer support the day of Westside Compassion
Children’s Ministry
Objectives:
Optical Team
This team provides
leadership in pulling together Opticians, Optometrists and
Assistants and equipment necessary to meet the patient’s basic
optical care needs within the scope of Westside Compassion’s
ability to be most helpful. More than eye checks, this team
ministers to the people with the healing power of Jesus Christ.
Objectives:

Optometrists, LensCrafters for provision of glasses

Coordinate Lyon’s Club
eye check vans and volunteers and coordinate with Pacific
University’s optical van
